SteamTrack Pro ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that allows users to track Steam wishlist and Community Market item prices. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

The Extension collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

Steam authentication token — Used to identify your Steam account via Steam's OpenID login so your wishlist can be synced. This token is stored locally and never transmitted to our servers.
Tracked item data — Names, prices, and price history of Steam items you choose to track.
User preferences — Settings such as currency, notification preferences, and alert thresholds.
Website content from Steam — Price and item data fetched from store.steampowered.com and steamcommunity.com to display in the dashboard.

2. How We Use Your Data

To display your Steam wishlist and market items in the extension dashboard.
To track price changes and notify you when prices drop to your target amount.
To store your preferences and alert settings between sessions.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to price tracking.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your data to any third parties. The Extension communicates only with Steam's official domains (store.steampowered.com and steamcommunity.com) to fetch publicly available price data.

4. Permissions Used

storage — To save tracked items, price history, and settings on your device.
alarms — To schedule periodic background price checks every 30 minutes.
notifications — To alert you when a price drops to your target.
identity — To authenticate your Steam account via OpenID.
tabs — To detect Steam pages and enable one-click item tracking.
Host access (*.steampowered.com, *.steamcommunity.com) — To fetch current prices and item data from Steam.

5. Data Retention

All data is stored locally on your device. You can clear all extension data at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage via Chrome's extension settings.

6. Children's Privacy

This Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
